Your next £100 of pay: you keep £72. £28 of it goes in tax and National Insurance.
Above the National Living Wage. £15.00 is £2.29 an hour more than the £12.71 minimum for workers aged 21 and over from 1 April 2026.

National Insurance here is charged one week at a time, on each of the 52 weeks you are paid, against that week’s own limits — which is what a weekly payroll does, and it is never reconciled over the year. Paid monthly on the same hourly rate you would meet twelve thresholds instead of 52, and the year’s National Insurance would come to £1,333.92 rather than £1,333.28.
