Take-home pay calculator 2026

Work out your take-home pay after CPF, any self-help group contribution and the income tax IRAS bills you for the year, with a bonus and a one-off payment, and every step of the sum shown.

Period this pay is given in
It also sets how often you are paid, which decides the pay day a bonus lands on. A yearly figure is taken as paid monthly. CPF is worked out on each calendar month's wages whichever you choose.
Your CPF status
Citizens and Permanent Residents pay CPF; a Permanent Resident pays less in the first two years. A foreigner pays no CPF.
Your age at the end of the year sets your Earned Income Relief, as IRAS tests it, and your CPF rates. The CPF rates are those for your age band all year: a birthday that moves you into the next CPF band during the year is not modelled.
Citizens and Permanent Residents who live here are tax residents, and so is a foreigner who works here for most of the year. IRAS decides it from the days you are in Singapore.
Your employer deducts it each month for the community fund your race or religion names, unless you have opted out with the group.

Paid with that month's ordinary pay. CPF on it is an Additional Wage, charged in that month up to the year's Additional Wage ceiling; income tax is worked out on your income for the whole year, the payment included.

Not yet included: reliefs other than Earned Income Relief and CPF Relief, so the tax shown is the most you would pay; any tax rebate for the year, which has not been announced; voluntary CPF; two or more employers; and the tax clearance of a foreign employee who is leaving.

Your next $100 of pay: you keep $81.84. 18.16% of it goes in CPF and income tax.
In an ordinary month, $4,000.00 lands in your pay: your gross pay less CPF. Income tax is not taken from your pay. IRAS assesses your 2026 income as Year of Assessment 2027 and sends you a bill for it the following year: $1,040.00 on these figures, which the take-home above already allows for.

How it is worked out

What these figures are, and what they are not

Your employer takes employee CPF from each month's wages: on your ordinary pay up to the monthly Ordinary Wage ceiling, and on a bonus or one-off payment up to the year's Additional Wage ceiling, at the rates for your CPF status and age. Any self-help group contribution is a few dollars a month, taken the same way. Nothing else is taken from your pay.

Income tax is not withheld from pay in Singapore. IRAS assesses your income for the year after it ends and sends you a bill, which you pay to IRAS. These figures take that bill off your pay for the year so the take-home is what you keep once it is paid, with Earned Income Relief and CPF Relief applied and no other relief, so the tax shown is the most you would pay.

Questions

Common questions

How is income tax worked out in Singapore?

On your income for the whole year, assessed by IRAS after the year ends: your 2026 income is taxed in Year of Assessment 2027. A tax resident pays nothing on the first $20,000 of chargeable income, then rates rising from 2% to 24% on income above $1,000,000. Income tax is not taken from your pay; IRAS sends you a bill.

How much CPF do I pay?

As a Citizen, or a Permanent Resident from the third year, aged 55 or under, you pay 20% of your wages and your employer adds its own share on top, 37% in all. CPF on your ordinary pay stops at the Ordinary Wage ceiling of $8,000 a month, and CPF on all your wages for the year stops at $102,000. A foreigner pays no CPF.

What is a self-help group contribution?

A small monthly deduction your employer passes to the community fund your race or religion names: CDAC, ECF, MBMF or SINDA. It rises in steps with your wages for the month, and you can opt out with the group. This calculator takes none unless you choose a group.

When do I pay the income tax?

After the year. You file your income for 2026 in the next year's tax season, IRAS sends you a bill for Year of Assessment 2027, and you pay it within 1 month of the bill. Nothing is taken from your pay for it.
