Take-home pay calculator 2026
Work out your net pay after loonheffing, the wage tax and national insurance premiums your employer withholds, with a bonus and a one-off payment, and every step of the sum shown.
A bonus or one-off payment is withheld on the Belastingdienst's table for special payments (bijzondere beloningen), at the rate for this year's pay with the payments included: the law uses last year's pay where your employer has it, and this page cannot know it. Holiday pay (vakantiegeld) is not included.
Not yet included: pension contributions, the 30% ruling, the alleenstaande-ouderenkorting and the jonggehandicaptenkorting, pay from a former employment (the green table), and the income tax assessment after the year.
Every figure here is your regular pay spread evenly. A bonus or one-off payment is shown below, and in the worked calculation.
Where your €45,000 goes
| Year | Month | Week | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gross pay | €45,000.00 | €3,750.00 | €865.38 |
| Loonheffing | −€8,376.00 | −€698.00 | −€161.08 |
| Take-home pay | €36,624.00 | €3,052.00 | €704.31 |
Each figure in the Month and Week columns is the year's figure divided by 12 or 52 and rounded to the cent on its own, so a column can be a cent away from its own total.
Every step of your take-home pay
What these figures are, and what they are not
Your employer withholds loonheffing from each pay: wage tax and the national insurance premiums (AOW, Anw and Wlz) as one amount, on the Belastingdienst's table for your pay period. The table takes your pay for the period up to a year, rounds it down to a step of the table, charges it on the year's bands, takes off the loonheffingskorting — the algemene heffingskorting and, on pay from work, the arbeidskorting — and divides what is left back into the period, rounded to the cent.
These figures are what is withheld from your pay over the year, not your income tax assessment. After the year ends the Belastingdienst works out your tax on all your income, with credits a payslip cannot know about, and refunds or charges the difference. Your employer's own premiums are paid on top of your pay and do not change your take-home.
Common questions
How is loonheffing worked out in the Netherlands?
Under the AOW age, the first band to €38,883 is charged at 35.75%: that is 8.1% wage tax plus the AOW, Anw and Wlz premiums of 17.9%, 0.1% and 9.65%. Pay above it is charged at 37.56% to €78,426 and 49.5% above that. Your employer looks the charge up in the Belastingdienst's table for your pay period, which works in steps of €54 of pay a year.
What is the loonheffingskorting?
The tax credits your employer sets off against the loonheffing on your pay, if you ask them to. Under the AOW age they are the algemene heffingskorting, up to €3,115 a year and less above €29,736, nothing from €78,426; and the arbeidskorting on pay from work, up to €5,685 and less above €45,592, nothing from €132,920. Only one employer may apply them, so a second job is withheld without them.
Is my bonus taxed at a higher rate?
A bonus, a thirteenth month or holiday pay paid once a year is withheld on the table for special payments. The rate depends on your jaarloon, normally your pay from this employer last year; this page uses this year's pay with the payments included, as the law does for someone without last year's pay. It is withheld on the day; the final tax for the year is settled in your assessment.
